The Accounting Department was unfolded in the 2016-2017 academic year for morning study, and in the 2017-2018 evening study was opened as well. After the accouchement of the Administration and Economics College within the formations of Al Farahidi University, the number of students was increased into four stages, as the first batch of the department was graduated in 2019- 2020.

Accountancy science is one of the sciences that society in general and business owners in particular pay great attention to because of the large and effective role that it plays in the business world through the information provided by the accountant of useful information for making rational decisions that serve multiple parties who benefit from the outputs of the accounting system in both sectors public and private, Also, the increase in students ’orientation towards the accounting department in recent years is not surprising due to the distinguished opportunities that graduates get in the labor market in both the public and private sectors.

The Accounting Department in the College of Administration and Economics – Al-Farahidi University, since its establishment in 2016, has raised an important slogan, which is (success for those who deserve), which made the department’s management in front of a professional and ethical responsibility by implanting the values and ethics of the profession on the one hand and the ethics of the public office on the other hand in the minds and consciences of its students and what This requires providing them with all the modern information in the field of accounting and auditing and even introducing them to advanced programs in the field of technology for the management of accounts and other other sciences that are in the interest of accounting science, such as statistics, mathematics, administration, law and others.

Vision

The vision of the Accounting Department stems from the knowledge of those in charge of the requirements of society and the labor market, which needs such a specialty. In addition, the department provides a service that prevails in all sectors of the state, as well there is no community institution devoid of the above need, whether at the private or public sector level.

Mission

One of the most substantial pioneering elements in building the accounting department as a scientific mission is to work on the most paramount goals upon which the college was based, which is to qualify students academically and scientifically in a way that is consistent in accordance with the requirements of the labor market in a special and direct way. In addition to that, working to provide a distinguished educational environment and for lecturers and instructors to conduct scientific researches by providing services to the community and providing financial and accounting cadres that to support them in various state departments.

Goals

The accounting department aims to achieve a set of goals that focus on:

  1. Graduate scientific cadres that specialized in accounting sciences.
  2. Cultivating the spirit of perseverance among the student and urging him to work hard for self-development to be among the scientifically and practically superior cadres.
  3. Urging the distinguished students to complete their studies and enroll in postgraduate studies which represented by providing professional and academic cadres to the community.
  4. Graduating scientific groups in the field of computers to support the community whether in various governmental or private departments.
