Department of Laser Engineering and Optoelectronics Technology

The Department of Laser and Optoelectronics Engineering Technologies was established at Al-Farahidi University in 2023 to prepare and graduate engineering personnel with Bachelor's degrees. Graduates from this department are capable of leading the development of laser technology. This is achieved through continuous curricula that cover advanced and specialized scientific and engineering topics in laser technology fields. Laser technology is used in various fields and applications, such as medical, science, industrial, communications, security systems, and measurements. Graduates of the department earn a Bachelor's degree, with the study duration in this department being four years to obtain a Bachelor's degree in Laser and Optoelectronics Engineering Technologies.

The Department of Laser and Optoelectronics Engineering at Al-Farahidi University / Technical Engineering College aims to be a fundamental contributor to preparing specialized cadres with high efficiency in laser engineering and optoelectronics. These cadres are expected to cover a wide range of sectors in the industrial, engineering, and medical fields in both the public and private sectors.

Message

Preparing distinguished engineers in the fields of laser engineering and electro-optics to help build and develop the local, regional communities, and contribute to providing society with applied scientific research and studies that address its developmental and improvement issues. Furthermore, we aim to enhance the college's role in building institutions and developing engineering work to achieve the concept of comprehensive development within the framework of human values and concepts. Finally, establishing and strengthening cooperative relationships with all entities working in engineering and medical fields, both locally and internationally.

goals

Graduating engineers qualified in laser and optoelectronics specialties, capable of designing, analyzing, and finding suitable solutions for practical problems and handling advanced technology with high skill. Preparing graduates qualified for participation in postgraduate studies both inside and outside of Iraq and working in research centers. Engaging in practical research in the field of laser and optoelectronics to solve practical problems and contribute to community service. Actively participating in community development and enhancing the organization of conferences and seminars, as well as continuing education in the field of technical engineering, and adopting a methodology for continuous improvement in all activities.
