Based on the principle of directing efforts and highlighting the achievement of gender equality in educational institutions and in accordance with the fifth goal of the united nations development program 2015-2030 (gender equality), the women's empowerment unit has been established in all iraqi universities, which is technically linked to the women's empowerment department in the ministry of higher education, which in turn is linked to the women's empowerment department in the secretariat of the council of ministers. Administratively, the unit is linked to the office of the university's president for within the structure of the university presidency and its affiliated Colleges, within a unified vision to enhance the role of women in management and leadership, stand against all forms of discrimination, and formulate public policies that guarantee equal opportunities between the genders at all levels, starting with equal control. Opportunities for admission to all types of study programs and for all specializations, including equal tasks for both genders as faculty members, and ending with achieving equality between males and females in assuming middle and senior administrative and leadership positions.
