The College of Dentistry is one of the colleges of Al-Farahidi University, which was established in 2017 and aims to prepare medical cadres specialized in oral and maxillofacial medicine and surgery, with a distinguished scientific and professional level. The college contains various scientific and applied laboratories, and the duration of study in the college is five years. The path that the college is taking is full of creative achievements and solid trust relations with the esteemed Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research on the one hand and with society to embrace the causes of development and advancement on the other hand. While it is keen to look forward, it always seeks to fulfill its educational and national obligations to achieve performance. Proper and crowning this effort by riding the board of leadership in medical specialties. This college seeks to achieve a number of goals, which we summarize as follows: • Contributing to building enlightened and modern generations armed with science, which is the basis of every serious change in building an integrated society in its principles and goals that connects heritage with contemporaneity so that the college is a center for scientific advancement on the one hand and supporting the needs of the individual and society. Both on the other hand. • Preparing university work requirements, including laboratories and educational tools, conducting specialized research and studies to contribute to the scientific and technological fields, benefiting from distinguished student research and teaching research, providing expertise and advice to economic and productive institutions, and contributing to providing services to society. • Strive seriously to develop continuing education and improve the performance of the specialized workforce and provide it with the latest developments in the fields of its specializations, in addition to holding continuous training courses in the field of specializations of the college’s departments. • Opening channels of joint work with international universities in accordance with the concept of twinning to develop programs in some specializations to advance the educational reality in order to obtain international academic accreditation. • The college is keen to transfer scientific reality and scientific theories to perform fruitful work in society and to be a pioneer in educational guidance and benefiting from science and its applications in building values and morals for the individual and society. In light of all that was mentioned, the quality and academic and qualitative accreditation of the college’s outputs remain a fertile source for all ambitions. Finally, the college aspires to be a major and effective factor in the university institution, and we pray to God Almighty to be able to participate in building scientific and educational edifices, appreciating the efforts of all its employees, professors, researchers, and students. The College of Dentistry - Al-Farahidi University was established in the academic year 2017-2018 to meet the needs of society and keep pace with the movement of scientific development in our world today. Studies began on the basis of a five-year curriculum, and it was managed at that time by Professor Dr. Sahar Hamdan Abdel Ghafour and continues to this day. Its aim is to provide the departments of the Ministry of Health in Iraq in general and Baghdad in particular with medical personnel at various levels, including doctors specialized in various fields related to dentistry.
